It’s amazing how few games exist for such a popular character. Captain Falcon is known for his many games in the “F-Zero” series, yet it seems like popularly for such titles have died out. I can’t seem to understand why because it’s clear that with such a notable character, people would be more inclined to buy games that feature him in a lead role. In order for Falcon’s star to shine brightly once more, I can certainly see a social media agency being put to use.
People who haven’t played or even heard of the “F-Zero” games, if they know about Captain Falcon, most likely know about him from the “Super Smash Bros.” series. This popular array of fighters features Falcon, amongst other Nintendo properties, duking it out with one another. Falcon is renown in those games for his hard-hitting yet agile moves along with his slew of catchphrases people like to recite. When you consider how likable Falcon is to the masses, shouldn’t a new “F-Zero” game be an obvious goal to set out for?
Nintendo’s focus is seemingly locked on key franchises that are guaranteed to make money, no matter what. Where Mario and Zelda are relied on to do exactly that, no matter how limited the progression of such series may be, “F-Zero” is almost like the forgotten child that has done nothing wrong. Fans of “F-Zero” exist and they want to see a new title come about, so why is Nintendo apparently ignoring the people that keep them afloat? It doesn’t seem right, at least to me.
If Captain Falcon wants to climb the ladder of success to tall heights again, a social media agency would be the company to look to. Such a company would be able to accentuate Falcon’s strengths – of which there are many – like the emphasis on high speeds. Let’s be honest: don’t we all want to experience breakneck speeds and ignore the constant pace we travel at day after day? A company along the lines of fishbat would be able to assist Falcon here and ensure results as well.
Falcon might not be at the same level as some other Nintendo characters in terms of popularity. However, should that stop him from being able to get to that point? Falcon is a character that has as much potential as anyone else, perhaps even more so because I feel as though his focus on speed would transcend several age groups. If Nintendo was smart, they would allow Falcon another opportunity to take the limelight and make a name for himself in this day and age.
